Get your aprons and flour sifters ready as World Baking Day 2013 invites everyone from novice baker to master pâtissier to Bake Brave this Sunday 19 May. The global event is sponsored by Stork margarine and there’s a baking challenge for everyone. A list of 100 recipes ranging from easy to advanced has been created to help inspire people all over the world to share in the joy of baking, exchanging recipes, and coming together online to swap stories, photos and videos.
The Bake Brave 100 recipes have been specially created for World Baking Day by 100 Bake Brave Ambassadors from around the world - a cross section of amateurs, professionals, bloggers and celebrities. They even include top Food Network chefs like Andy Bates, Lotte Duncan, Lisa Faulkner.The one thing they have in common is that they’re all baking enthusiasts.
How can you get involved with World Baking Day 2013?
Bake something challenging on Sunday 19 May - something that you can be proud of, and that you can share with your family, upload a photo of it onto your Facebook page, and one day you’ll be able to show your grandchildren the chocolate cupcake recipe you conquered. It doesn’t matter what your level is or whether your cake looks like the one in the cookbook or not. World Baking Day is all about testing yourself, seeing how far you can challenge yourself and most importantly, having fun.
