Every Game of Thrones House Represented as Food

Food might be the last thing on your mind when you’re deeply engrossed in the latest episode of Game of Thrones but that’s not to say the residents of Westeros and Essos don’t eat well. In this world, food is power and power is the most sought after thing there is.

Chugging wine, hunting game and laying on banquets fit for a King are all part of the indulgent and often wasteful lifestyles the noble families lead. George R.R Martin’s novels are chock full of lavish feasts and by stark contrast, the slimmest of pickings. From whole suckling pigs, giant pigeon pies (at Joffrey’s wedding feast) and Sansa Stark’s lemon cakes, to bowls o' brown for smallfolk from the likes of Flea Bottom.

We’ve pulled together what we think is every Game of Thrones house represented as food. While we cannot promise that this list will make you hungry, there’s no denying the lifestyles and eating habits of the rich within Westeros, Essos and the rest of the Known World are fascinating.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Robert Baratheon wouldn’t have been out of place in an episode of Man Vs. Food.
