If a wheel of molten fondue-style Brie or Camembert isn't every cheese-lovers dream, we don't know what is. From sweet and nutty to herby and savoury, you can transform a wheel of Camembert or Brie in so many different ways. Creative combos like Orange Marmalade with Rosemary, Mango Chutney with Roasted Peanuts and even Wine-Soaked Berries (cheeky!) are festive party favourites that would pair perfectly with sliced, toasted baguette, baby potatoes, rye crackers, grapes, olives and even cornichons.
These ideas would make for the perfect Christmas starter and are a great hot addition to any cheese board. Part of its' charm is that the melt-in-the-middle cheese can come baked inside its' own wooden box, should you choose to serve it like that. The good thing about serving it in the box is that you can make it a little ahead of time and keep it covered and warm in the oven until you're ready to serve. It also means that there's less washing up to do!
Some other delicious dipper ideas a heartier starter portion for one could be aubergine rounds coated in breadcrumbs, sweet potato wedges, walnut bread, pickled asparagus and cured meats. Serve on a board or plate with leafy greens like rocket and baby spinach dressed with a simple French vinaigrette.
Now bring on the cheese!
