Baked sweet potato chips

Ingredients

  • For the house seasoning:

  • 1 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup black pepper
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder
  • For the sweet potato fries:

  • Olive oil, for tossing
  • 5 sweet potatoes, peeled, sliced into 1/3cm-thick slices, then 1/3cm-long strips, using a crinkle cut knife
  • Oil
  • 1 tbsp house seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Method

How to make Baked sweet potato chips

1) Preheat oven to 220C/Gas 8.

2) Mix the house seasoning together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

3) Line a sheet tray with parchment. In a large bowl, toss the sweet potatoes with just enough oil to coat. Sprinkle with the house seasoning and paprika. Spread the sweet potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, being sure not to overcrowd. Bake until the sweet potatoes are tender and golden brown, turning occasionally, about 20 minutes.

Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
