Date Syrup

  • 10 dates, finely chopped
  • 360ml water
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 tablespoon runny honey
  • The peel of 1 orange, without the pith
  • 1 whole clove
  • 10ml orange blossom water

Place all the ingredients into a small saucepan and simmer until the dates are broken down, add a little more water it need be. Once the dates have cooked down and the liquid looks syrupy, remove from the heat and strain off the syrup, reserved the date mush to stir into thick chilled yoghurt.
