Donatelli's: Meat sauce recipe

  • 900g beef mince
  • 10g minced garlic
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 40g diced onions
  • 1 (825g) tin pureed tomato
  • 2 (340g) tins tomato puree
  • 1 (425g) tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp beef stock cube
  • 1 tbsp chicken stock cube
  • 50g grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 3g chopped parsley leaves
1) Brown the beef mince with the minced garlic and add salt and pepper, to taste. Drain the beef mince and set aside.

2) Place the oil and onions in a saucepan and saute on a high heat until soft. Add the pureed tomato, tomato puree and chopped tomatoes.

3) Fill the pureed tomato tin with hot water and dissolve the beef and chicken stock cubes in this water.

4) Add this water and the base mixture to the saucepan. Add all the other ingredients and heat through.

5) Once hot, add the browned beef mince and simmer on a low heat for approximately 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

6) Serve over your favourite pasta – enjoy!!!!
