Easy tomato sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 (800g) tins whole tomatoes, drained, tomatoes chopped
  • 3 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper

Method

How to make Easy tomato sauce

1) In a large saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, until soft. Add the garlic and cook for a further 2 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and cook, uncovered, for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

2) Season with salt and pepper, to taste and serve.
