Ingredients

  • 180ml whisky, such as Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
  • 120ml freshly squeezed lemon juice (4 lemons)
  • 120ml freshly squeezed lime juice (4 limes)
  • 160ml sugar syrup, recipe follows
  • Ice cubes
  • Maraschino cherries
  • For the sugar syrup:

  • 240ml water
  • 200g caster sugar

Method

How to make Fresh whisky sours

1) Combine the whisky, lemon juice, lime juice and syrup. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice and pour in the drink mix to 2/3 full.

2) Shake for 15 seconds and pour into glasses. Add a maraschino cherry and serve ice cold.

For the sugar syrup:
1) Bring sugar and water to the boil and simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved.

2) Chill before using.
