Neely's BBQ spaghetti
Ingredients
For the Neely's BBQ sauce:
- 470ml tomato tomato ketchup
- 235ml water
- 85g brown sugar
- 85g white sugar
- 1/2 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 tbsp onion powder
- 1/2 tbsp dry mustard powder
- 30ml lemon juice
- 30ml Worcestershire sauce
- 120ml apple cider vinegar
- 30ml golden syrup
- 30g Neely's BBQ Seasoning
For the spaghetti:
- 1 red pepper
- 1 onion
- Extra-virgin olive oil
- 450 to 900g cooked pork
- 450g spaghetti
For the Neely's BBQ seasoning:
- 110g paprika
- 55g white sugar
- 1 tsp onion powder
Method
How to make Neely's BBQ spaghetti
For the BBQ sauce:
1) Combine all of the sauce ingredients in a stockpot or large Dutch oven. Bring to the boil over high heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
2) Reduce temperature to low and simmer uncovered, for at least 2 hours.
For Neely's BBQ seasoning:
3) Mix all the ingredients and set aside.
For the spaghetti:
4) Dice red peppers and onions and saute together in extra-virgin olive oil. Add the sauteed vegetables and cooked pork to the sauce and continue to simmer for up to 1 hour.
5) Cook pasta according to package directions and drain. Pour sauce over cooked pasta and serve.
