Ingredients
- 1/2 kg beef mince, formed into patties
- House seasoning, to taste, recipe follows
For the house seasoning:
- 225g table salt

- 56g pepper
- 56g garlic powder
Method
How to make Poor man's fillet steak
1) Preheat the grilling element. Make 4 round fillet-like burgers with the ground meat. Season well with house seasoning.
2) Cook the bacon but remove from the pan before it turns hard and crispy. Wrap each fillet with bacon and secure with a cocktail stick.
3) Place the fillets on a baking tray lined with aluminium foil. Cook for about 7 to 10 minutes under the grilling element, or until the desired doneness is achieved.
For the house seasoning:
4) Mix the ingredients together and store in an air-tight container for up to 6 months. Use as a seasoning on meat and when cooking vegetables.
