Spiced Roast Chicken with Chestnut and Citrus

  • 1 sachet of Knorr Gourmet Special Roast Chicken
  • 1 small roasting chicken (1kg)
  • 1 tbsp oil

Pre-heat oven to 200°C, (180°C fan), Gas Mark 6. Tear open top of pack and remove bag. Peel off sticker and unwrap, keeping hold of blue tie to use later. Place the chicken in the bag, then add 1 tbsp oil and rub the chicken to evenly coat with oil. Add the seasoning from the bottom sachet.

Close and tie bag with blue tie, approx 2cm from the opening. Shake gently until the ingredients are evenly coated in seasoning. Place in a non-heated ovenproof dish so that the bag is sideways.

Place dish on middle shelf of pre-heated oven for 1 hour. Ensure enough room for bag to expand when cooking (bag must not touch sides or top of oven). Slit open top of bag and cook for a further 10-15 minutes, allowing the skin to crisp (attention: hot steam). Check meat is fully cooked and place into a dish. Once carved, pour over the juices to serve.
