Ingredients
- 4 large, ripe, unpeeled bananas
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Ice cream, for serving
Method
How to make Tanzanian baked bananas
1) Preheat the oven to 210/Gas 7 or prepare a barbecue.
2) Cut off the ends of the bananas. Place the unpeeled bananas on an ungreased baking sheet or in a baking pan, or place them on the lightly oiled rack of the barbecue.
3) Bake or barbecue for 15 minutes, or until the skins burst and turn black. Discard the skins and cut the bananas lengthwise.
4) Mix the butter, brown sugar and lemon, and drizzle over the cooked bananas. Serve with ice cream.
