Tartare sauce
Ingredients
- 250ml prepared mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp finely chopped gherkins
- 1 tbsp finely chopped flat-leaf parsley leaves
- 1/4 tsp finely chopped fresh tarragon
- 1 1/2 tbsps chopped capers
- 1 small spring onion, white and green, minced
- 1/4 tsp finely grated lemon zest
- 1/2 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 to 3 drops hot sauce (optional)
Method
How to make Tartare sauce
1) In a small mixing bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, cornichons, parsley, tarragon, capers, spring onions, lemon zest and juice. Add the hot sauce, if using.
2) Refrigerate for 30 minutes for the flavours to come together.
Serve.
