Thornton melon-ball
Ingredients
- Ice
- 60ml your favourite vodka
- 60ml melon liqueur
- Orange juice
- Various melon balls (cantaloupe, honeydew or watermelon)
Method
How to make Thornton melon-ball
1) If making the drink straight up, add the ice, vodka, melon liqueur, and a splash of orange juice to a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously to combine. Strain into a large, chilled martini glass and garnish with melon balls.
2) If making the drink on the rocks, fill a rocks glass with ice. Add the vodka, melon liqueur and enough orange juice to fill the glass. Stir with either a stirrer or straw. Garnish with the melon balls.
Cook's Note: Obviously this drink was inspired by the classic cocktail The Melon Ball and the classic 1986 Rodney Dangerfield movie Back to School.
