Zesty roasted garlic bread
Ingredients
- 1 head garlic, unpeeled
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 240g butter, softened
- 3 tbsps finely-chopped parsley leaves
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 loaf sourdough bread, split horizontally
Method
How to make Zesty roasted garlic bread
1) Preheat oven to 200°C / gas mark 6.
2) Cut top off garlic head. Place garlic on a piece of aluminium foil; drizzle with olive oil. Fold edges together to seal. Bake 30 minutes; cool.
3) Squeeze cooked garlic into a medium bowl. Garlic will be soft and sticky. Add butter, parsley, salt and pepper, stirring to combine.
4) Spread cut halves of bread evenly with garlic butter mixture. Grill 14cm from heat, with oven door partially opened, for 2-3 minutes, or until butter melts and bread is toasted.
Cut bread into slices to serve.
